Wattle Bay by Lisa Elley

Wattle Bay. 2012. 9 X 12. Oil on Canvas

Near my sister's house in Auckland is a windy, overgrown path down to a special little inlet where my kids had fun wading on the mud flats. The amazing thing about painting New Zealand, either from a photo or plein air is that there are no people to edit out! With a population of only four million and a land mass the size of California, there is plenty of room for everyone.
