This 5x7 painting is for sale for $100 which includes shipping. I wanted the dark trees to be against a light background and foreground. As in any grouping the objects (the trees) should all vary in size. I also put some dead branches to give a little color and variety. I like depth in my paintings which the cool colors to the orange in the foreground gives, but also the texture in the foreground helps to bring that forward. I have the hints of a fence in the field.
I got quite a bit of painting done today. I finished the foreground of a 12x16 and started another the same size. I took some photos of that one from the beginning. I hope to post the progression of the painting start to finish. I should have it up on the blog by Wed.
Remember, if you sign up for my newsletter, you will be in my drawing for a FREE painting this month. If you are already on my email list, have a friend sign up and I will put both of you in the drawing.
I'll be posting another one tomorrow.

I paint. Using oils and recently rediscovering pastels I paint primarily landscapes in plein air and the studio. I'm known for my sunsets and skies. I'm passionate about passing on what I have learned from nationally known artists in workshops that I teach.
