I
believe we were in Lucca, a walled city in Italy, when I noticed the
wisteria you see in the painting. The trunks are all twisted, the
purples range from almost pure white to the darkest hues, in the shade.
All feels so old to me, although the building behind the fence and
floral scene looks almost modern, doesn't it? I love Italy.
