The
southwestern portion of Colorado has many beautiful passes and
colorful, high mountains, but this is absolutely my favorite: Red
Mountain. It is between Silverton and Ouray, on the road to the Million
Dollar Highway and Durango, as well as the always fascinating Anasazi
ruins at Mesa Verde. Red Mountain is loaded with iron ore, surrounded
by evergreens and aspens; there is no bad view of it. (I love it, can
you tell?)
