Lunch Room, by Oscar Arroyo

Lunch Room - Oil on 8x12 inch Canvas Paper - Oscar Arroyo

One of my favorite kind of days: overcast and gloomy.

Went upstairs at my day job for a break and upon walking into the room, i was greeted with this beautiful sight.

The light from the windows cast the room and it's contents with a luminous and mysterious spell.

For this painting, I worked in a much looser style than my usual work, and kept things messy and dark, as well as staying within the confines of a very limited palette of Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna, and Yellow Ochre here and there, as well as Titanium White.

Enjoy!

  1. Oscar this is an incredible painting ... mood, feeling, skill, tone, composition, technique .... not a thing can be faulted. It's this type of painting which should be receiving the acclaim and financial benefit that is sadly going to fashionable and sensational "artists" like River Dance's Michael Flatley. Looking forward to seeing more .... Lynda Cookson

    1. Thank you for your beautiful words Lynda! I agree with you 100%. Thafully the art world is changing its mind as to what true art actually is. All we can do is continue to search for what we find beautiful, and deliver it to the world the best way we can.

      Thank you
