"Blossoms" by Paula Formanek

What's on My Easel?? ...
Inspired by a beautiful apple tree in my backyard, I actually started this one last Spring but the thick ðŸŽ¨paint🎨 took a long time to 'dry' ... I got back to it a few days ago, before I picked up the flu. Just looking at it makes me feel better ... I will call it 'Blossoms', thick oil with knife impasto on canvas, still a WIP ...

Three paintings by Paula Formanek

Yesterday I ðŸŽ¨painted🎨 these 'magical' flowers from memory ... from my recent hikes in the Czech Forest ... When I was there, they were in bloom, providing colour and 'energy' in forest clearings ... 'Enchanting Gloves' - oil with knife on canvas, 20 x 26 cm ... Wishing a happy day to everyone! ...

'A field of Passion', oil with knife on panel, 28 x 36 cm ... this is one I started in Europe and recently brought home ... just completed yesterday. My love for poppies goes back to childhood when I ran through the fields and helped my grandmother pick them ... she would dry them and then submit to state pharmacy ...

This one, started several months ago after I came home with some tulips ... itching to get back into a little painting today after down time with the flu ... A WIP, thick oil on panel ðŸŽ¨ ...

'Sunset on Colonel By Lake' by Paula Formanek

Still jet lagged, but I started this one yesterday because I was in the mood to paint ðŸŽ¨ something big and different!

Based on a photo I took last summer, actually painted over an old flower painting I did a few years ago (which I did not like).

I will let this dry now and then see if it's done ... Oil with knives on canvas ... It will be called 'Sunset on Colonel By Lake' ...

"Lilacs" by Judy Mackey

Drying on my easel today.

I hadn't painted large in a long while so it felt good to just go free and paint with tons of paint. This canvas had been toned pink for another painting I had in mind but as I starred at the pink for months, actually, I decided - nope! It has to be a soft yellow/ochre...I think it sets the purples of the flowers really well.
