"Caitroina" by Lynda Cookson

"Caitroina" is an Irish name meaning Chaste and Pure.

I've just finished painting eleven hardy, black-faced, long-fleeced Connemara (West of Ireland) sheep ... let's hope no more are required for at least a year now!

Her rather disco colours come from the dye each farmer uses, daubed onto the backs of the sheep, for easy and quick identification. Sometimes more than one colour is used.
